Chemistry Food Project
I learned that chemical proportions determine the outcome of the final product. Also, I learned that the speed in which you introduce the chemicals to each other will affect the outcome of the product. Experimenting with the method in which the ingredients are placed into the solution. For example, a spoon creates a deformed blob whereas a syringe creates perfect spheres.
In my experiment, the recipe called for fruit juice with a neutral PH level. Having a PH level that was too high did not allow for the reaction to occur and the juice would just float around instead of forming a ball. On the other hand, if you had too much solution it would create too much of a gel and you would not get enough fruit juice.
